IP Valuation for a Syndicated Patent Securitisation
A private equity firm was eager to diversify into intellectual property. In particular, it was keen to develop a financial mechanism that would allow it to invest in patents in emerging markets, while protecting itself against the host of risks associated with these types of investments.
Our Approach
We developed together with the private equity firm an approach to a syndicated patent securitization which allowed among other things to value these assets and make them subsequently investable.
Impact
The client obtained a patent for this approach.
